The Championship golf course on the cliffs at Carlyon Bay is at once beautiful, dramatic and challenging. Stretching along the coastline towards the port of Par, the course offers 6,500 yards of the most stimulating golf in Cornwall, a comfortable club house and an extensive pro shop. So whether you're an individual, part of a golf society or a business looking to organise a corporate golf event, there's no better place to play the game than Carlyon Bay.

Sports and Leisure

Of course the main attraction of the Fowey Estuary is the sailing. Competitive sailing is arranged throughout the year and attracts sailors as well as spectators. Fowey Regatta is the highlight of our season and provides the centre point in the sailing calendar. Private boat hire is available and sailing and canoeing lessons are also available as well as diving lessons should you be brave enough. Further information regarding sailing, sailing events and mooring can be obtained from our Fowey Harbour Office.

Whatever you want to do, most things are available within a short drive. Within a few miles of this area you can find riding stables, swimming, and surfing. For those who still wish to keep fit whilst on holiday we have an excellent Leisure Centre with squash, badminton and tennis courts, trampoline and table tennis facilities and during the summer months a heated, outdoor swimming pool.

Bird-watching and Wildlife

The Fowey River threads its way through a picturesque wooded valley - the ideal spot to explore in a boat or canoe hire in the town. Then you can row or paddle your way up the river exploring the wealth of lush woodland and wildlife. The further up this peaceful creek you get, the more you notice the abundance of birdlife. All manner of winged creatures, from the garden birds in the wooded valley to the sea and estuarine wildlife of the river itself, can be seen if you stay quiet and patient.
