Overlooking open fields at the top of a pretty wooded valley, which leads to the seaside village of Fowey and Readymoney Cove is the delightful two bedroom cottage, The Shippen. This family and dog friendly cottage comfortably accommodates up to four and is the ideal Cornwall holiday retreat no matter what the season.
The cottage is equipped to a high standard and has plenty of charm and character thanks to its exposed stone walls and wood beams. It really is a wonderful home-away-from-home.
The beautiful triple aspect lounge is the place to sit back and relax with its large comfy sofas. The lounge also features a 37’’ TV with Freeview HD and a DVD player, WiFi and plenty of books, games and magazines. If needed the sofa converts into a double sofa bed, which offers alternative sleeping accommodation to the twin bedroom.
A patio door leads directly out from the lounge to the outdoor seating area, which is perfect for alfresco dinners.
The kitchen, which located behind the lounge is fully fitted and equipped to a very good standard with a wide range of appliances, such as a washing machine, a fridge/freezer, an electric oven with ceramic hob, a dishwasher, a microwave and a great selection of crockery, cutlery and utensils.
The first bedroom is a lovely double. The room, which is bright and spacious has lots of character with exposed stone walls and views over the garden. It also has plenty of storage for holiday attire.

Accessed via the double bedroom is the colourful twin bedroom with two full size single beds, allowing it to be used by both adults and children. Like the double bedroom the room has exposed stone walls and views of the garden.
The bathroom at The Shippen is shared by both bedrooms and features a bath with shower overhead, a wash-basin and a WC.
The Shippen benefits from its own private, fenced garden, which is located to the front of the cottage and is equipped with a table, bench and chairs ideal for alfresco dinners. This lovely garden has views of the open fields and is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon with a book.
In addition to its own garden, guests can also take advantage of the well-maintained, landscaped gardens, which are shared by the other onsite cottages. Within these gardens, there is a children’s playground and clothes dryers.
Up to two dogs are welcome at The Shippen to accompany you during your stay at the cottage. The cottage has its own fenced garden, and guests can use the additional onsite grounds. There are also plenty of walks nearby, as well as dog friendly places to eat.
